clauses that restrict user rights, and the clauses regarding
governing law and dispute resolution. This document also
defines acceptable use, user responsibility, and route and
content submission terms.
It serves as a binding agreement between Scenic and its users
and is referenced at the point of registration and account
creation.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
These Terms of Use (or "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Scenic mobile application (the "App", “Platform”) and associated services provided by Hangzhou Jingzang Network Technology Co., Ltd., 杭州景藏网络科技有限公司, Scenic ("Company", "we", "our" or "us") within the jurisdiction of the People’s Republic of China ("China"). By accessing or using the App within China, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These terms govern the use of the Scenic mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”). They define acceptable use, Scenic service content, user accounts, user responsibilities, limitations of liability, intellectual property rights, route and content submission terms, and dispute resolution procedures. They serve as a binding agreement between Scenic and its users and are referenced at the point of registration and account creation.
By accepting or using our Services, you confirm that you can
form a binding contract with Scenic, that you accept these
Terms and that you agree to comply with them. Your access to
and use of our Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy
and Community Guidelines, the terms of which can be found
directly on the App, or where the App is made available for
download, on your mobile device’s applicable app store, and
are incorporated herein by reference. By using the Services,
you consent to the Terms of the Privacy Policy.
You can accept the Terms by accessing or using our Services.
You understand and agree that we will treat your access or use
of the Services as acceptance of the Terms from that point
onwards.
You should print or save a local copy of the Terms for your
records.
We agree to provide you with the Scenic Service, which includes access to a suite of products, features, technologies, applications, and tools designed to support the purpose and mission of Scenic:
To transform journeys into immersive adventures by connecting travellers to picturesque routes and inspiring shared experiences.
You must exercise your own judgment regarding the content displayed on the Scenic platform and assume all risks arising from relying on or using such content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you are solely responsible for any damages or losses resulting from the aforementioned content.
1. Personalised Opportunities to Discover, Explore, Create,
Connect, Experience, and Share
We design our platform to help you discover scenic journeys,
explore meaningful places, create and document travel
experiences, connect with fellow travellers, and share what
inspires you, whether that’s a weekend escape or a
once-in-a-lifetime expedition. From community stories to
curated feeds, Scenic surfaces content that aligns with your
interests and travel behaviours.
2. Scenic Route Suggestions
Scenic uses a combination of user insights, environmental
data, and proprietary recommendation systems to offer route
suggestions that prioritise aesthetic, cultural, historic, and
sensory value, not just speed. These suggestions may be
personalised based on your location, travel history, and
preferences.
3. Navigation Assistance
Our core navigation system offers real-time guidance along
scenic routes, helping users reach their destinations in a way
that prioritises discovery and quality of experience. This
includes features like photo prompts, immersive route
previews, and route-based audio guidance (where available).
4. Route Sharing
Users can share completed routes or planned journeys with
others. Shared routes can include media, commentary, and
Waymarks, helping friends or the wider community relive or
follow the same journey.
5. User-Submitted Content
Scenic thrives on user-generated contributions, including
route submissions, adventures, reviews, photos, and videos.
This content helps enrich the platform and contributes to a
living archive of scenic exploration. You maintain ownership
of your content, while granting us limited rights to display
and distribute it as outlined in our Terms. Any content you
post on the Scenic platform does not represent the views,
positions, or policies of Scenic, and you are solely
responsible for the content you post.
6. Social Journey Coordination Tools
Scenic enables users to travel together via Team Routes,
real-time location sharing, and collaborative planning tools.
These features help users coordinate scenic experiences with
friends, family, and community teams while retaining privacy
controls.
7. Fostering a Positive, Inclusive, and Safe
Environment
We are committed to cultivating a platform where users feel
welcome, heard, and safe. Our tools, policies, and moderation
systems aim to reduce misuse and surface meaningful,
constructive engagement.
8. Developing and Using Technologies That Serve Our
Community
To scale Scenic and offer innovative features, we invest in
tools that make our services smarter, more intuitive, and more
adaptive, including AI-powered and algorithm-based route
recommendations, computer vision for route media, and content
moderation systems that ensure quality and safety.
9. Providing Consistent and Seamless Experiences Across All
Our Products
Whether you're using Scenic on mobile or viewing our
official website, we strive to ensure a consistent and
responsive experience. Your preferences, saved content, and
history stay connected regardless of which device you use to
log in.
10. Ensuring Access to Our Service
We maintain infrastructure, partnerships, and localised
support to provide access to Scenic across different regions
and network conditions. We may occasionally adapt our features
to meet regulatory or technical requirements specific to your
location.
11. Research and Innovation
We use aggregated data, community feedback, and emerging
technologies to improve our services and imagine what travel
experiences can become. Innovation is at the core of Scenic’s
roadmap, from the introduction of new ways to discover hidden
places to the integration of AI companions and future-forward
journey planning tools.
1. Account Management
To access or use some of our Services, you must create an
account. When creating this account, you must provide accurate
and current information. It is important that you maintain and
promptly update your details and any other information you
provide to us to ensure that it remains current and complete.
Please keep your account password confidential and do not
disclose it to any third party. If you know or suspect that
any third party knows your password or has accessed your
account, you must immediately notify us at
safety@scenicnav.com.
You agree to be solely responsible (to us and others) for the
activity that occurs under your account.
If you violate any laws, regulations, or the terms of this
agreement during registration or use of your Scenic account,
Scenic reserves the right to refuse registration; if already
registered, Scenic reserves the right to require the user to
correct the behaviour within a specified period, or take
measures such as temporary suspension, permanent suspension,
or account cancellation. We reserve the right to disable your
user account at any time, including if you fail to comply with
any provision of these terms, or if the activity occurring in
your account (which we, in our sole discretion, deem harmful
or potentially harmful to the service, or infringes or
violates any third-party rights, or violates any applicable
laws or regulations).
If you no longer wish to use our Services and wish to delete
your account, please contact us at
support@scenicnav.com. We will provide you with further assistance and guide you
through the process. Once you choose to delete your account,
you will not be able to reactivate it or retrieve any content
or information you have added.
2. User Conduct
Your access to and use of the Services is subject to these
Terms and all applicable laws and regulations. You may not:
- access or use the Services if you do not have full capacity
and legal authority to agree to these Terms, or have not been
authorised by your parent or legal guardian to use the
Services;
- make unauthorised reproductions, modification, adaptation,
translation, reverse engineering, disassembly, decompilation,
or creation of any derivative works of the Services or any
content therein, including any files, forms, or documents (or
any part thereof), or determining or attempting to determine
any source code, algorithms, methods, or techniques contained
in the Services or any derivative works thereof;
- distribute, license, transfer, or sell the Services or any
derivative works thereof, in whole or in part;
- market, rent, or lease the Services on a fee-based or paid
basis, or use the Services for advertising or any commercial
solicitation;
- use the Services for any commercial or unauthorised purpose,
including disseminating or facilitating any commercial
advertising, solicitation, or spam, without our express
written consent;
- interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of
the Services, disrupt our website or any network connected to
the Services, or bypass any measures we may use to prevent or
restrict access to the Services;
- incorporate the Service or any portion of it into any other
program or product. In such cases, we reserve the right to
refuse service, terminate accounts, or restrict access to the
Service in our sole discretion;
- use automated scripts to collect information from or
otherwise interact with the Service;
- impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or
otherwise misrepresent yourself or your affiliation with any
person or entity, including creating the impression that any
content you upload, post, transmit, distribute, or otherwise
make available originates from the Service;
- threaten or harass others, or promote pornography, violence,
or discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national
origin, disability, sexual orientation, or age;
- use or attempt to use another person's account,
service, or system without Scenic's authorisation, or
create a false identity on the Service;
- use the Service in a manner that could create a conflict of
interest or undermine the purpose of the Service, such as by
exchanging reviews with other users or writing or soliciting
false reviews;
- use the Service to upload, transmit, distribute, store, or
otherwise make available: files that contain viruses, Trojan
horses, worms, logic bombs, or other malicious or
technologically harmful material;
- any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, solicitations,
promotional materials, "junk mail,"
"spam," "chain letters," "pyramid
schemes," or any other prohibited form of solicitation;
- any third party's private information, including
addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, personal
identification numbers and characteristics (e.g., National
Insurance number, ID or passport number), or credit card
numbers;
- any material that infringes or may infringe any copyright,
trademark, or other intellectual property right or right of
privacy of another;
- any material that is defamatory, obscene, offensive,
pornographic, hateful, or inflammatory;
- any material that constitutes, encourages, or provides
instructions for criminal conduct, dangerous activities, or
self-harm;
- any material that is intentionally provocative or
irritating, especially malicious attacks and bullying, or that
is intended to harass, harm, intimidate, distress, embarrass,
or upset anyone;
- any material that contains threats of any kind, including
threats of physical violence;
- any racist or discriminatory material, including
discrimination based on race, religion, age, gender,
disability, or sexual orientation;
- any answers, responses, comments, opinions, analysis, or
suggestions that you do not have the appropriate permission or
are not qualified to provide; or
- any material that Scenic, in its sole discretion, deems
objectionable, restricts or inhibits any other person from
using the Services, or that may expose Scenic, the Services,
or its users to any harm or liability of any kind.
In addition to the above, your access to and use of the
Service must always comply with our
Community Guidelines
and must not violate any local, national, or international law
or regulation.
We reserve the right to remove or disable access to content at
any time, for any reason or no reason, at our sole discretion,
without prior notice. We may remove or disable access to
content for reasons that include being objectionable,
violating these Terms or our Community Policies, or otherwise
damaging to the Service or our users. Our automated systems
analyse your content (including emails) to provide you with
personalised product features, such as customised search
results.
At Scenic, we believe that the safety of children and minors
online is of the highest importance. While many platforms in
the social media and navigation space set minimum age limits
of 12+ or 14+, we hold a stricter view: the risks associated
with route creation, location sharing, and posting travel
content are not appropriate for individuals under the age of
18.
This policy outlines our commitment to safeguarding children,
the standards we apply, and the responsibilities of all users
in protecting minors on Scenic.
Minimum Age Requirement
- Scenic is designed for use by individuals 18 years of age or
older.
- Users under 18 may not create an account, post content, or
use any features of the Scenic Service.
- By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this
minimum age requirement.
Prohibition on Content & Media Involving Minors
To protect children from the risks of location-based exposure,
we prohibit:
- Uploading or posting identifiable images or videos of
minors.
- Sharing routes, echos or posts that include personal details
of minors.
- Associating children’s likenesses with geotagged locations.
This restriction applies even if the child is your own or a
family member. Scenic prioritises safety over exposure.
Risks We Are Guarding Against
We acknowledge and actively mitigate the specific risks
technology can pose to children, including:
- Location targeting: Linking a child’s face with frequented
places (e.g., school, home, or activity locations).
- Unintended exposure: Public sharing of posts, echos, routes,
or team trips that include minors.
- Exploitation: The malicious use of personal data, imagery,
or geolocation information involving children.
Responsibility of Parents and Guardians
Parents and guardians should be aware of the risks associated
with allowing minors to appear in online travel content.
Scenic strongly advises against using our platform to showcase
children, even indirectly.
If you are a parent or guardian managing a Scenic account, you
must ensure that:
- Children under 18 do not use the account.
- No images, videos, or identifying information of children
are uploaded.
- Privacy and visibility settings are carefully reviewed to
prevent unintentional exposure.
Enforcement
- Accounts found to be created by minors will be suspended or
permanently removed.
- Content featuring minors that violates this policy will be
deleted without prior notice.
- Repeated violations may result in the removal of your
account.
Our Commitment
- Scenic will continue to review and update this policy to
reflect evolving threats and best practices.
- We work to ensure our platform’s moderation systems, both
automated and human, flag and prevent content that puts minors
at risk.
- We are prepared to cooperate with regulators and child
safety organisations globally to ensure compliance with the
highest safety standards.
Reporting
If you see content on Scenic that involves minors or you
believe a minor is using the platform, please report it
immediately using the in-app reporting feature or by
contacting
childsafety@scenicnav.com.
Scenic respects the intellectual property (”IP) rights of
others and expects all users of our Service to do the same. As
a condition of your access to and use of the Services, you
agree to the terms of the
Intellectual Property Policy

User Intellectual Property Rights
You warrant that all content you publish or upload through the
Scenic platform (including but not limited to text, images,
videos, audio, etc.) is original or that you have obtained the
necessary legal authorisation. All user-generated content is
the intellectual property of the user. By uploading content,
you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license
to use, modify, distribute, and display that content within
the application. We may remove any content at our sole
discretion. You are solely responsible for the content you
upload and publish through the Scenic platform. If the content
you send or disseminate is illegal, violates regulations, or
infringes upon the rights of others, Scenic has the right to
independently judge and take measures such as deletion. You
shall bear full responsibility for any disputes arising from
the infringement of others' intellectual property rights.
If your actions cause losses to Scenic, Scenic has the right
to demand compensation from you in accordance with the law.
User-Generated Content
Scenic allows you and other users to create, upload, share,
and publish content through the Service, including but not
limited to:
- Routes and Waymarks
- Photos, videos, and audio recordings
- Echos, and captions
- Posts
- Comments, ratings, and feedback
You retain ownership of your User-Generated Content (“UGC”).
However, by submitting UGC to Scenic, you grant Scenic a
worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable, transferable license
to use, host, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate,
create derivative works from, distribute, publicly perform,
and display such content in connection with operating,
improving, and promoting the Scenic Service.
This includes, for example:
- Displaying your route on the Scenic app
- Using uploaded photos in route previews or marketing
highlights
- Allowing other users to navigate, share, or experience your
content
You represent and warrant that your UGC does not:
- Infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of
third parties
- Violate Scenic’s Community Guidelines, Child Safety Policy,
or other policies
- Contain harmful, misleading, unlawful, or exploitative
material
You are responsible for your UGC, including ensuring you have
all necessary rights to upload and share it on Scenic.
Scenic Content
All content, features, and technologies made available through
Scenic are the property of Scenic or its licensors and are
protected by copyright, trademark, patent, and other
intellectual property laws.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- The Scenic app, software, and underlying code
- Proprietary map layers, navigation systems, and route data
analytics
- Scenic’s trademarks, brand elements, logos, and symbols
- In-app experiences, UI/UX design, and visual identity
- Scenic-produced editorial, guides, events, and campaigns
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Scenic grants you
a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license
to access and use the Scenic Service for personal,
non-commercial purposes.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of Scenic’s Content
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract Scenic’s source
code, maps, or databases
- Sell, lease, or distribute Scenic Content without explicit
written permission
- Use Scenic’s trademarks or brand identity without
authorisation
Content Moderation & Removal
Scenic may, at its discretion, remove, restrict, or disable
access to any content (whether Scenic Content or UGC) that
violates these Terms, applicable law, or poses risks to users
or the community. Scenic also reserves the right to suspend or
terminate accounts engaged in repeated or severe violations.
Reporting Content
If you believe content on Scenic infringes your intellectual
property rights or violates Scenic’s policies, you may report
it through our
Intellectual Property Policy
or in-app reporting tools. Scenic will review and take
appropriate action, which may include removal, suspension, or
escalation to authorities.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the App.
Scenic offers a paid subscription tier known as Vista (“Subscription”). Vista provides access to enhanced features, including but not limited to:
Feature availability may evolve over time. Scenic does not guarantee that all features will remain unchanged or continuously available, provided that any material reduction complies with applicable law.
Vista is offered on the following billing options (taxes may apply):
Prices may vary by region, currency, or platform and may be updated periodically. Any price change will apply only to future billing cycles and will be communicated in advance where required by law.
New subscribers may be eligible for a 7-day free trial. No charges will be applied during the trial period.
Each user is eligible for one free trial unless otherwise stated.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
No partial refunds are provided for unused time unless required by law.
Payments are processed through third-party payment providers or app store platforms. Scenic does not control and is not responsible for payment processing errors caused by these providers.
Refunds, where applicable, are governed by the policies of the relevant platform (including, but not limited to, the Apple App Store, WeChat Pay and Alipay) and applicable consumer protection laws.
Any routes, media, or content created or modified using Vista features remain subject to Scenic’s content ownership, licensing, and acceptable use provisions as set out elsewhere in these Terms.
Termination or cancellation of a Subscription does not delete user content, unless explicitly requested or required under applicable law.
Scenic may suspend or terminate access to the Subscription without refund if a user materially breaches these Terms, including misuse of features, abuse of content privileges, or unlawful activity.
Scenic may integrate with third-party platforms and services,
such as map APIs, weather data providers, or social media
networks. By using these integrations, you agree to comply
with the third-party service’s terms.

We are not responsible for the functionality, availability, or
privacy practices of these third-party services. Your use of
these services is at your own risk.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Any dispute shall be submitted to the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) for arbitration in accordance with the CIETAC Arbitration Rules in effect at the time of applying for arbitration. The arbitral award shall be final and binding on both parties.
We amend these Terms from time to time, for instance, when we update the functionality of our Services, when we combine multiple apps or services operated by us or our affiliates into a single combined service or app, or when there are regulatory changes. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to generally notify all users of any material changes to these Terms, such as through a notice on our Platform; however, you should look at these Terms regularly to check for such changes. We will also update the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms, which reflects the effective date of such Terms. Your continued access or use of the Services after the date of the new Terms constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop accessing or using the Services.
